Attacked on Linkedin

The other day I was attacked on Linkedin.

A group of self-righteous individuals (*cough* losers) swamped a post where I gave a backend view of the testing involved in running a successful cold email operation.

They seemed shocked by the volume and were desperate to label me as a spammer.

One even told me ‘Shame on you’…

When I took a quick look at the profiles of my attackers.

One thing stood out.

None of them worked in sales.

They had fancy titles like ‘data analytics’…

And that’s when I understood the hate.

You see it’s a trend I’ve noticed across all the companies and ventures I worked for or on.

People who don’t work in sales just don’t get it.

Sales is a noble pursuit.

Because to succeed you have to surrender to the fact that everything is your fault.

It’s completely self-reliant.

There are no excuses that can’t be traced back to:

→ Did you put in the correct inputs?

Sales is the lifeblood of the company.

It allows you to sit in your fancy office with a fancy job title and argue with people on Linkedin.

I’ll never apologise for helping my clients sleep better at night knowing their pipeline is full and a team of professionals manage their outbound.

I’ll just keep making my product and the results we generate for clients better.

Shout out to all my salespeople
