The 2700 year old business model that's still printing cash

If you didn’t already know…

I’ve been in Rome this week on a quick excursion.

One of the main themes that stuck out to me during my trip and what inspired this email was…

Quality + Legacy

Rome is a city that’s been around since at least 700+ BC

In some form or another…

That’s well over 2700 years this city has stood.

When Romulus laid the first foundations of a wall around Palantine hill…

Did he know that millennia later people still flocked to the city?

And that all roads eventually lead to Rome…

I don’t know the answer to that question

But the legacy is real…

One man’s mission to create a city snowballed into something that is unlikely to ever disappear…

But why?

Well, not to mention the impact of the people and the Roman Empire…

The city is pure quality…

From the roads…

To the endless buildings and the hundreds of churches…

They’ve stood the test of time because of quality…

Through war, social upheaval and natural disasters...

They’ve been built to last.

I think this struck such a cord with me because of a mindset shift I had last year…

Instead of chasing short-term gain, I’ve stretched my goals out longer…

10… 15… 20 years…

With the goal being to achieve quality in everything I do.

Quality stands the test of time…

Quality turns a few hills in Italy into a city with a 2700-year-old world-spanning legacy…
